COVID-19 MEMBER UPDATE

 

UPDATED COVID ARRANGEMENTS – 22ND SEPTEMBER 20

 

Yesterday afternoon the Government reminded everyone that the Covid virus continues to pose a serious risk to health, and tightened the rules for individuals and businesses. The new rules are expected to last for months, and may be tightened further if infections increase.

Cash and Cheque Service

WITHDRAWAL OF CHEQUE ENCASHMENT FACILITY AT THE CO-OP BANK

The Co-operative bank branch in Rotherham town centre will be closing on 25th November 20.  This means that we will no-longer be able to offer the cheque encashment service from this time.

POLITE NOTICE TO MEMBERS

The health and safety of our staff and our customers remain of paramount importance and we still, therefore, continue to operate with one member in the office at a time and a face covering must be worn.

Notification of Changed Interest Rates

INTEREST RATE CHANGES FROM 1ST OCTOBER 2020

Following a review of the interest rates we pay, we are writing to give you advance notice that on 1st October 2020 we will be reducing the interest rate payable on the Premier Deposit Account by 0.25% from 1.25% to 1.00%.

On the same date, we will reduce the interest rate on the Premier Savings Account by 0.25% from 1.50% to 1.25%.

BANK HOLIDAY CLOSURE – MONDAY 31st AUGUST

The LASER Office will be closed for the Summer Bank Holiday on Monday 31st August 2020

Please note that any benefits due on the above date should be received the last working day before. 

We will be open as normal on Tuesday 1st September 2020

MOBILE APP WITHDRAWAL REQUESTS

Monday and Tuesday are our busiest days with a high volume of telephone calls and many are to request BACS withdrawals.

If you haven’t already download our mobile app, get it on google play or download it on the app store. Once logged on, withdrawal requests are quick and easy,  at a press of a button.

The mobile app has some other great features too, it’s quick to view balances and apply for a loan.

WEARING FACE COVERINGS FROM 24TH JULY 20

COVID-19 IMPORTANT UPDATE

CUSTOMERS ARE REQUIRED TO WEAR FACE COVERING FROM FRIDAY 24TH JULY 20

 

In  England from Friday 24th July 20 customers will be required to wear face coverings in shops and supermarkets. HM Treasury have confirmed that credit unions, banks, building societies, post offices and money service businesses will be included in the requirements as well.

Change to Opening Times and Easter Bank Holiday Closure

Change to Opening Times 

With effect from Tuesday 7th April 2020 our opening times will change from 9.30 a.m. to 10.00 a.m.

Please see below our opening times:
Monday          10.00 –  14.00
Tuesday          10.00 –  14.00
Wednesday    10.00 –  13.00
Thursday        10.00 –  14.00
Friday             10.00 –  14.00

From Monday 30th March 2020 we will temporarily close at the earlier time of 2pm.

All other day’s remain unchanged.

Please be reminded that LASER remains open and is offering a limited service from the cashiers area only.

Customer Notice – Change to services

Important changes to services from Monday 23rd March

We are working very hard to provide as normal service as is practical during this current covid-19 crisis.   Like many business we are going to have to adapt and temporarily make changes in the way we work in order to protect the health and well-being of everyone.

We ask that you only visit the premises if you have to for cash, if you don’t have a bank account for us to do a BACS payment to or you haven’t got an Engage card or it hasn’t arrived yet.  We hope that if you have to visit our premises you will adhere to the safety precautions we are going to put in place from tomorrow, Monday 23rd March.  For example if you are coming in for a cash we ask that you keep at least a distance of one metre between yourself and others.   We also ask that, if you can, you come alone to our premises to reduce the footfall into our office. Please note we will be limiting the number of members in the premises at any one time.  If you have any concerns, for example, self isolating with your children at home but need to withdraw cash, please contact us so we can discuss your circumstances with you and the options available.

In the light of recent government announcements and advice regarding the Coronavirus LASER Credit Union would like to take this opportunity to inform you of what you can expect from us and what we would expect from you.

At the moment our services are continuing to operate as normal, but we will continue to monitor and assess the situation.

Please consider your health and that of others and help us to minimise this risk.  If you are one of the categories that has been advised to limit activities to essential activity you will still be able to access our services without coming into our office.
