Community members and their families, including children, based anywhere in the UK, can join LASER.
How do I join LASER?
You will need to complete a membership application form. This can be done online (see below). To comply with the Financial Conduct Authority rules we need to confirm your name, address and date of birth. We can do this by doing an online ID&V check. There is a small one off membership joining fee of £5 to pay to join LASER Credit Union and you will need to start saving with at least £1.
LASER currently offers the following services to Community members:
Community Savings Account – save from as little as £1 per week. Save as much as you want, when you want. You can set up a standing order with your bank to make regular deposits. Your savings will build up before you realise. This account comes with instant access and the funds can be transferred back to your bank account, if you give us those details when you open your account.
If you can save £5 per week or more for at least 16 weeks, you will be eligible to apply for a Community Loan.
Community Bank Account – have your wages or salary paid in direct and receive a prepaid Visa Debit card for withdrawals. This will allow you to have access to your funds 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Want to open both Community accounts? No problem.
Community members can apply for a LASER loan, for loans between £100 and £7,500.
